Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cups honey comb bread:all-purpose flour (maida)


  • 160 ml milk


  • 3 tbsp sugar


  • 1/4 tsp baking powder


  • 3 tbsp melted butter


  • 2 tsp instant yeast


  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • 150 gms cream cheese


  • 1 cups sugar


  • 1 cups water


  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Directions

  • Sugar syrup:Boil the sugar and water for 10 min .
  • Add lemon juice and boil untill it is slightly thickened.
  • Remove from the heat and set aside to cool completely.
  • For the Bread: In a bowl add sifted flour,sugar,salt, baking powder, yeast and mix well.
  • Add the butter and milk.Knead for 10 min untill the dough is soft.
  • Cover the dough in a bowl and keep for 1 hr untill its double the size.
  • Knead the dough again and using a knife cut the dough into half and cut the half portion
  • into small small pieces of equal size.
  • Take each dough piece and stretch it out with your fingers, add a small piece of cheese in its center.
  • Bring the edges together and form a small ball Repeat this with all the dough pieces.
  • Grease your cake pan with butter. Place the balls of dough in the round cake pan touching each other.
  • Cover the pan and set aside for a 30 min to rise.
  • Preheat the oven at 180?C and bake for 20 to 25 min until the bread is nice and golden on top.
  • Remove from the oven and pour sugar syrup all over the hot bread.(Syrup should be cool)
